How to look & Feel good in your 40's and beyond...

Aging is guaranteed, it happens to all of us...but it doesn't mean that we have to give up. Follow these tips to look & feel good after the age of 40...

  • Lift Weights 3 – 4 weeks per week.

This goes far beyond aesthetics and “looking good” (though that is a nice bonus). It is about being strong so you can be healthy and able bodied as you age. Lifting weights is the fountain of youth.

  • Walk 5 – 7 days per week.

Walking is very under-rated, requiring no special equipment, it can be done almost anywhere and is low impact. Walking will boost fitness, improves mental health and can help boost your metabolism so helping you to lose weight.

If you are serious about getting in great shape and feel your best as you age, then give walking a go.

  • Prioritise sleep.

In today's fast paced world many of us are not getting enough sleep, but just by ensuring that we get enough sleep we can improve and optimise many aspects of our life. Lack of sleep is also known to raise cortisol levels in the body which can lead to weight gain. Aim for 7 – 8hours sleep to reap maximum benefit.

  • Reduce/Eliminate alcohol.

Alcohol apart from increasing the risk of weight gain, it also negatively impacts sleep, physical performance, cognitive function, gut health, hormones, blood sugar and many more.

  • Eat nutrient dense whole food.

The quality of your food matters, by improving your food intake you can increase energy, improve hormone function, lose weight, and generally feel better.

Good health should be your priority, don’t live life as just a survivor, but give yourself the best chance at thriving.

Committed to your fitness
